SAFEGUARDING in SCHOOL - it matters to us!26 April 2021 (by admin) |
St. Bernard's school works very hard trying to SAFEGUARD the interests of ALL children in its care.
We have lots of daily routines in place to help SAFEGUARD children:
We have numerous QUALIFIED FIRST AIDERS (11 in total) placed throughout school (including dinner supervisors).
We have FIRST AID SLIP books/folders in place for when your child has an accident and we need to inform you.
We have FIRST AID stations located around school with regular replenished stock.
We have x4 MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID MENTORS on the school site because every little helps and your child matters.
We have SAFEGUARDING DOCUMENTATION, that is readily available on the busy school website, that covers a wide spectrum of safeguarding responsibilities and accountabilities. It all helps and is available for you to read.
The school now uses the new Catholic Ten:Ten resource base which is all about positive reinforcement of safeguarding children - empowering them with knowledge so they make the right choices.
SAFEGUARDING is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment, preventing harm to children's health or development, ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care.
WE CAN ALL HELP TO SAFEGUARD because SAFEGUARDING MATTERS!
