SCHOOL MEDICATION - check it's in-date5 May 2021 (by admin) |
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR CHILD'S MEDICATION IS IN-DATE IF IT IS ON SCHOOL PREMISES (ref pupil inhalers).
Teaching staff at St. Bernard's check their class medication boxes regularly BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO STRESS THAT PARENTS SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT THEIR CHILD'S MEDICATION IS IN-DATE and not past it's expiry date.
This is VITALLY IMPORTANT because if your child is asthmatic they will need their IN-DATE INHALER.
Pupil medication should be PRESCRIBED only and CLEARLY LABELLED with your child's name on it. DO NOT send an inhaler that is NOT PRESCRIBED for your child.
The school does have an emergency school inhaler and an emergency school epipen as part of our whole school safeguarding agenda. HOWEVER, we will administer this only in an emergency situation. It is the full responsibility of parents to make sure their child's MEDICATION is currently prescribed and in-date.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU FILL IN THE MEDICATION IN SCHOOL FORM IF YOUR CHILD HAS AN INHALER ON THE SCHOOL SITE. Check the school website for details.
