STAY SAFE and FOLLOW the GUIDANCE26 May 2021 (by admin) |
Just keeping you in the loop with some of the local news. It's IMPORTANT we stay vigilant and remember the NHS and Government guidance regarding covid-19.
Some local schools in Hall Green have begun targeted testing after the B.1.617.2 covid variant (Indian variant) was identified among positive Covid-19 tests. You'll be aware that a cluster of cases of the April-VOC strain were found at Hall Green Infant and Primary Schools as results came back over the past two weeks. Note that St. Bernard's has NOT as yet been contacted or had any cases that we are aware of. WE MUST REMAIN VIGILANT HOWEVER.
All members of the community were told to take a PCR test amid targeted testing by Public Health England, the NHS and Birmingham city council. Hall Green Infant, Junior and Secondary school will be carrying out targeted testing - with additional tests offered for staff, parents and children.
The community were reassured that there is 'no evidence' the Indian variant causes more severe illness or that it makes the jabs less effective, (Birmingham City Council).
It's all about keeping St. Bernard's fully in the loop so informed decisions and extra vigilance can be made accordingly.
