The school will send out regular correspondence related to ATTENDANCE MATTERS (% of current attendance etc.).

It's all part of our ATTENDANCE SAFEGUARDING approach because, as you know, ATTENDANCE MATTERS. We are working in partnership with the authority focusing on the SPOTLIGHT on ATTENDANCE programme. It's about keeping you fully in the attendance loop.

Rest assured, do not be alarmed if you receive a letter related to your child's attendance because if school has been informed at every stage, there is nothing to be too concerned about - there might be genuine reasons for absence (covid, isolation, medical needs etc.) and the school office are fully aware of this. That's why keeping us informed is absolutely crucial (provide evidence, phone call, letter).

Parents have been genuinely surprised with % statistics that have been sent out recently because yes, the impact is significant. Again, for genuine reasons of absence there are no issues. We will still send letters out though regularly to keep you fully in the loop.
