FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER starting 20229 March 2022 (by admin) |
We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Maria Chiriches will be starting St. Bernard's. She will be on site next week - Monday 14th March. We are very much looking forward to having her as part of our family team. She will be our FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER.
As part of our ongoing partnership with parents, our FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER's role will include assisting with:
*Family relationships, health and well-being, financial hardship, bereavement, housing matters or a referral to specialist services
*Behaviour at home or school
*Transitions in school or moving up to secondary school
*Attendance or lateness
*Individual work with young people on self-esteem, confidence, parental separation, anger management, friendships, social networks, bereavement and problem solving
*Signposting to relevant services about career advice, job searching, adult education, disabilities, care and support and money management
It's a difficult time for many households, and what goes on behind closed doors 24/7 can be extremely challenging...sometimes people and families needs help, guidance, support and a listening ear.
School staff work very hard assisting families but the FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER is a bridge, a go-between, a specific person who can really focus on family needs, your specific needs. Sometimes adults prefer to talk to FAMILY SUPPORT instead of teaching staff, Mr. Foley or Mr. Stephenson. Having someone there makes a DIFFERENCE!
Our FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER is having a welcoming TEA & COFFEE opportunity - Monday 14th March at 2pm in the school hall - come along for a chat if you want to introduce yourself.
St. Bernard's - MAKING a DIFFERENCE!
