PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CANCEL THE FORTHCOMING SPORTS DAY EVENTS. These events were due to take place on MONDAY 18th & TUESDAY 19th July at Moseley Secondary School playing fields.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused because we know parents book time off work and rearrange family circumstances to make sports day events for their child/children.
Looking at the detailed MET weather forecast outlook and checking our school risk assessments, the weather is simply too hot to have children exposed on an open sports field for a few hours at a time - extreme heat warning is forecast. It is predicted to hit 36 degrees on Monday 18th and low 30's on Tuesday 19th July.
We believe this is the sensible and right decision to make for all concerned.
Again, apologies for any inconvenience caused but I'm sure you will fully understand the reasons why we have had to make this difficult decision - the safety and wellbeing of the children comes first.
