It's not every day you get a GLOBAL POETIC SUPERSTAR phoning your school BUT Mr. Benjamin Zephaniah (poet, writer, lyricist, musician) actually PHONED this morning and spoke to staff. But why?
Our Y5 writing stars have been INSPIRED lately...they have been studying the WRITING GENRE of POETRY - studying a certain man called BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH.
Benjamin was in London today but took time out of his very busy schedule to personally phone St. Bernard's school early this morning. He passed on his THANKS to the children of St. Bernard's, especially Aisha in Y5. Her poem INSPIRED him to call the school.
WOW! A memorable moment, a memorable phone call...Aisha's face was a TRUE PICTURE of joyous shock! Mr. Zephaniah making a DIFFERENCE and INSPIRING the WRITING GENERATION of tomorrow.
