ROAD SAFETY OUTSIDE SCHOOL - it's everyone's responsibility! MIDLANDS TODAY NEWS

    22 June 2023 (by admin)

Local news were at St. Bernard's this week (MIDLANDS TODAY TV) - all about trying to get ROAD SAFETY MEASURES put in place outside our school for the benefit of ALL CHILDREN & ADULTS.

The school keeps campaigning, contacting the local authorities and getting the message out there.

Have you done your bit though because it is everyone's responsibility?

Have you emailed your increasing concerns to the relevant parties? It will only take a few minutes of your time. PLEASE EMAIL!

Our actions, the way we drive, the way vehicles are parked, blocking pavements, causing possible obstruction, can have a significant knock-on effect. It can cause disruption, frustration and anger. It can lead to an individual injury or serious injury (or worse!). The knock-on effect can be dangerous and the Wake Green Road, as we all know, is extremely difficult to navigate. Please park further away from school and walk your child in.

We continue to ask for assistance from the local authority, local police, our local MP and local councillor. We have emailed, made contact, attended meetings, asked for help, passed on our ongoing serious concerns. We have now managed to persuade local press interest, get TV camera outside St. Bernard's school. You may have seen a vehicle on the 'Midlands Today' news programme, speeding wrecklessly up the Wake Green Road. It is just so wrong, so unacceptable, so dangerous! Deadly driving! But let's be honest, it is happening more and more - it is only a matter of time before a serious injury happens or worse still, a fatality!

We have asked for more safety features outside school on the Wake Green Road – we continue to ask. Please help us.
