Eligibility

The eligibility criteria are the same as previous rounds – households that are struggling financially due to the increased costs of food and energy, with the added requirement that they must not have received a grant in the previous 12 months. This means that families that received a grant in the previous round of funding, between February and April 2023, are NOT ELIGIBLE.

The next round of Household Support Funding is due to open to the public on Monday July 31^st, and will run again until the end of September, or earlier if the funds run out. There will be two further rounds of funding before and after Christmas, taking us up until March 31^st 2024. The grant is a one-off payment of up to £200 per household.

Accessing the Fund

Once again, the fund is being administered by BVSC and the easiest and quickest way for families to access the fund is via the BVSC website at https://hsfbirmingham.online/ (only enquiries submitted from 31^st July 2023 will be processed). Applicants are asked to complete a short eligibility questionnaire, after which they will be notified of the outcome and next steps. Eligible households will be added to a waiting list, and will be called back by either Hall Green Families or one of our partners organisations to complete the full application.

For households that need support in completing applications, we are offering bookable and drop-in sessions at locations across Hall Green – please see the attached flyer for details. Interpretation services will be available at these sessions.
