THE BIG ATTENDANCE DRIVE - onwards and upwards!6 November 2023 (by admin) |
It's all about your child's GOOD ATTENDANCE at school because it MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. Aim for very good attendance. We are looking between 96% to 100% for this half term - that's the school attendance challenge.
Whole school attendance at St. Bernard's, since September 2023, is 95.4%
The national primary school attendance since September is 95.3%
We continue to get lots of requests from parents for extended leave during term time. Please be aware that periods of extended leave will not be authorised during term time - if you take your child out of school for extended leave then you will be fined and your child will be in danger of losing their place in school. The Education Legal Team correspond with parents regarding this - they process fines, penalty notices, and can process court proceedings.
Please note...
It is vital that your child is in school every day and on time - a reminder that the school gates close at 8:45 each day (8.30am/8.45am).
As the attached table shows, even a small amount of time missed can have a huge impact on your child's development and could lead to them falling significantly behind their peers:
