It is a time of joy, peace, giving, love, and togetherness. It is our special ADVENTUS time...we are thinking ahead...we are preparing...something special is happening.
The school hall is currently lit up in the spiritual colour of purple - we talked about this colour in assembly this morning. Such an ADVENTUS colour!
There is singing in the hall this morning...Christmas carols - getting ready for the days ahead. Such an ADVENTUS thing to do!
The children have been talking about CHRISTMAS CARDS also. Of course it is tradition to send cards BUT, we are asking for something different instead. Doing it DIFFERENT in St. Bernard's AND importantly, MAKING a DIFFERENCE!
Your child DOES NOT need to write cards, or send Christmas cards in, PLEASE DON'T! Instead, we are asking you to make a small monetary contribution on our forthcoming CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY - Tuesday 19th DECEMBER.
It's a CHRISTMAS JUMPER day (19th December) when we want to collect a little more money, keep things simple, LIVE SIMPLY, and MAKE A DIFFERENCE to people who need that little bit more!
So, NO CHRISTMAS CARDS please. It's not us being scrooge-like, it's our children, staff, and parents, giving a little more towards a collection that will go to BIRMINGHAM CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. Wonderful cause!
