The BIG ST. BERNARD'S...READ-A-THON 2024! Look out for details coming your way this week...
At St Bernard’s we love reading so let’s take advantage of the cold weather and extra hours indoors to cuddle up with a good book! At the same time we can raise some money to buy extra resources for St Bernard’s. We are asking every child to get involved. The more we raise, the more resources we can buy!
Here’s how the St. Bernard's Read-a-thon works:
• The Read-a-thon is running from Monday January 15th-Friday February 2nd.
• We have sent home a sponsor form for family and friends to sponsor children to read. If you have multiple children in school you can complete a joint sponsor form for all children and we’ll add the total amount to each class.
• We ask that the children fill in their reading logs to show how much reading they do during the Read-a-thon.
• Your child can read anything, books, comics, magazines, anything. If your child struggles with independent reading they can share a book with someone else, or picture books count too!
• We ask that all forms are returned on Monday February 5th.
• Each class will have a winner who will receive a prize and the class raising the most money across the whole school will receive a special prize too.
