ATTENDANCE, ATTENDANCE, ATTENDANCE - it's in the news!

    16 January 2024 (by admin)

Pupil attendance is in the national news again (and so it should be!). The basic message is GOOD ATTENDANCE = OPPORTUNITIES FOR LIFE!

'Good to excellent' school attendance equates to improved social skills, improved emotional intelligence, improved academic performance - linked to strong test and exam performances, leading to a variety of greater job prospects later in life!

In an attendance nutshell, GOOD HABITS start at a very young age!

Help us to help your child. Aim for that GOOD SCHOOL ATTENDANCE!

School will continue to reward children with 100% attendance termly certificates (we distributed over 120+ last half term).

School will continue to have the exciting x3 family voucher attendance draw (a chance to win a £50 family voucher for a family experience outing - pupil attendance needs to be between 96%-100% to be in with a fighting chance to win!).

Note also, we are here to help you, support you, and also challenge when it comes to pupil attendance.

Our school FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER can talk to you.

Our SCHOOL NURSE can talk to you.

We actively phone parents every single day if a child is absent and school has not received any correspondence. You MUST keep us informed.

Mr. Foley and Mr. Stephenson hold Monday attendance meetings with parents.

Attendance letters are sent out regularly to certain parents, reminding them of their child's attendance.

The Education Legal Team are actively involved in partnership with the Authority and St. Bernard's school - they issue penalty notices across the city. They issue penalty notices to parents at St. Bernard's school.

It is all about making sure your child achieves their true personal potential, and GOOD to EXCELLENT school attendance gives them that educational chance!

    Thank you parents.

Good habits start young! Poor attendance can have a lifelong effect!
