MEDICAL NEEDS on the SCHOOL SITE - spring 202428 February 2024 (by admin) |
We regularly update our MEDICAL NEEDS and PUPIL WELFARE list because it is all part of our whole school SAFEGUARDING agenda. It's about helping your child, looking after your child, and making sure your child is safeguarded on the school site.
You MUST inform us if your child has a school inhaler. The inhaler MUST be in-date and PRESCRIBED by a Doctor. Ideally, it should be in the original prescription box. NO child should be sent into school with their 'siblings inhaler'/inhaler NOT actually prescribed to them.
PLEASE NOTE...
School updates various pupil medical needs lists including: asthma, epipen, seizure alerts.
If your child has any prescribed medication on the school site, parents MUST sign the 'administration of consent' forms (available at the main school office).
The school has x9 trained paediatric and first aid at work staff members (3-year certification till October 2026).
School has emergency use Inhalers on site, Epipens on site, spare Nurofen, Calpol, and Piriton solution. You DO NOT NEED to send any Piriton/Nurofen/Calpol into school with your child.
School has a AED on the school site (automated external defibrilator).
If your child has first aid administered on the school site, you should receive a first aid slip (detailing what happened and the basic first aid received).
It is all part of managing medical and pupil needs on the school site.
Thank you parents.
