RISE and SHINE EARLY - TUESDAY starts our wonderful month of May at St. Bernard's

We welcome the children back into school early tomorrow morning. Breakfast club opens at 8am and ALL children should be in school between 8.30am and 8.45am. It is the MONTH of MAY and it's such a special month in our FAITH.

It is a centuries-old custom of Catholics around the world to dedicate the month of May to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The month of May is always part of the Eastertide season, the fifty days we celebrate in the liturgy the Resurrection of Our Lord - a time also of awaiting the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

The celebration of May as a month for Mary fits well with the liturgical celebrations of Easter and Pentecost as we recall Mary’s great joy in her Son’s victory over death as well as her presence with the apostles in the upper room prayerfully awaiting the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

In this YEAR of FAITH, it is good to consider the faith and wondrous spirit of Mary - she will lead us all at St. Bernard's through this very special month.

It is also a time that we will crown her in school, and we have numerous events planned to take place to celebrate Our Lady's special month.

See you all tomorrow St. Bernard's!

May is the month of Mary...
