    SCHOOL ATTENDANCE MATTERS - new LEGISLATION 2024

    the DEPARTMENT for EDUCATION are driving the national agenda regarding pupil attendance. It's IMPORTANT you stay in the NATIONAL school attendance loop!

    Parents, recently you were sent communication regarding NATIONAL SCHOOL ATTENDANCE LEGISLATION.
    It's all about the 'National Framework for Penalty Notices for school absence' - all about 'School Attendance'

    A reminder again of important changes the Department for Education is introducing regarding school attendance and the issuing of penalty notices when children are absent from school.
    The NEW National Framework for Penalty Notices has been being introduced.

    The new regulations came into effect during the summer break, from the 19th of August 2024.
    The overall aim is to improve consistency in the use of penalty notices across England.

    Please make sure you read through any attendance correspondence that is sent out via MCAS. It's IMPORTANT!

    You will also receive regular information via the school MCAS system and via the school newsletter.

    It's important you stay in the NATIONAL ATTENDANCE loop.
