POLITE REMINDER - NO NUTS/NUT PRODUCTS PLEASE

    19 December 2024 (by admin)

A polite reminder about NO NUT PRODUCTS being brought into school. No traces of NUTS. We do have certain children who have life-threatening allergies. Vitally important to make sure we do everything possible to assist them with their needs.

Christmas can be a time of gifts and gift exchanges. Please make sure that NO NUT PRODUCTS are brought into school (traces of nuts in sweets etc./packed lunches etc.).

    And...

Also, if your child has an inhaler ON THE SCHOOL SITE, YOU SHOULD ALSO FILL IN and SIGN THE ADMINISTRATION OF CONSENT FORM (school office). This is VERY IMPORTANT. Please do not simply send an inhaler into school with your child. FORMS MUST BE FILLED IN.

Currently now have 54 children on the school site with inhalers. We have 54 consent forms retained and filled in. The inhaler MUST be in-date and PRESCRIBED by a Doctor. Ideally, it should be in the original prescription box. NO child should be sent into school with their 'siblings inhaler'/inhaler NOT actually prescribed to them.

    PLEASE NOTE...

School updates various pupil medical needs lists including: asthma, epipen, seizure alerts.

If your child has any prescribed medication on the school site, parents MUST sign the 'administration of consent' forms (available at the main school office).

The school has x8 trained paediatric and first aid at work staff members (3-year certification till October 2026).

School has emergency-use Inhalers on site, emergency-use Epipens on site, spare Nurofen, Calpol, and Piriton solution.

You DO NOT NEED to send any Piriton/Nurofen/Calpol into school with your child. We will always phone you to ask for verbal consent if a child needs this kind of medication (Calpol, Nurofen, Piriton).

School has an AED on the school site (automated external defibrilator).

If your child has first aid administered on the school site, you should receive a first aid slip (detailing what happened and the basic first aid received).

It is all part of managing medical and pupil needs on the school site.

    Thank you parents.

AGAIN, A REMINDER ABOUT NUT PRODUCTS. PLEASE BE EXTRA VIGILANT WHEN PREPARING PACKED LUNCHES FOR YOUR CHILD. NO NUT PRODUCTS PLEASE.
