News Stories CONCERNED ABOUT A CHILD - SAFEGUARDING is KEY School works very hard behind the scenes when it comes to SAFEGUARDING. It is a huge operation in educational establishments and covers many aspects of school life . the school website has a dedicated SAFEGUARDING section. FREE BOOKS - WOW! CHILDREN'S BOOK PROJECT 2025 The children were very excited today because they were ALL presented with BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS galore! Yes, children could choose a FREE READING book and they are taking their book home later today...AND KEEPING IT! NO POKEMON or FOOTBALL TRADING CARDS please Parents, quite a few children (mainly in KS2) have recently been bringing in GAME TRADING CARDS. These are mainly Pokemon and football player cards. They can cause issues on the school playground zones and children can 'fall out' over them. FIRST AID in SCHOOL A Paramedic team led staff training yesterday after school, leading defibrillator and bleed kit training. It really was a most informative session. The team showed staff how to use an emergency BLEED KIT & DEFIBRILLATOR. ST. PATRICK'S DAY in ST. BERNARD'S...coming soon It's going to be a GREEN THEME soon. Yes, ST. PATRICK'S DAY is coming soon to St. Bernard's. All takes place in school on MONDAY 17th March 2025. Your child can wear GREEN, GREEN, GREEN. Going for...GREEN! Be SEEN in GREEN! LOCAL SPORT - MOSELEY RUGBY CLUB - OFFERS GALORE! Sport is KEY...it offers so many opportunities for young children (and adults alike!). We are SO PRIVILEGED to have great sporting venues near school...the amazing Champions League venue of VILLA PARK, the wonderful cricketing delights of Edgbaston. FINAL PTA FILM NIGHT EVENT - Thursday for Y5/Y6 Our final OSCARS PTA CINEMA EVENT takes place on Thursday after school...YEAR 5 & YEAR 6 only. It's the FINAL PTA FILM NIGHT of 2025. Get your child signed up...last opportunity. Year 3B's CLASS ASSEMBLY - Thursday 13th March at 9.15am Our wonderful YEAR 3B children present their class assembly tomorrow morning at 9.15am AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS & EVENTS Staff run several after school events and clubs for the children of St. Bernard's. It's all about ENRICHING the experiences the children have. Thankfully, because of staff giving up their time, we have a vast array of different clubs. Y5 EXPLORING the LOCAL OUTDOORS Mrs. Wright & Mr. Breslin will be venturing far and wide...to horizons new (Moseley Bog).
